SUST: The Lighthouse on Sustainability
Sponsors of the EuroSun 2006 Conference Prizes
SUST: The Lighthouse on Sustainability is a new and ground breaking campaign
that
aims to raise awareness of sustainable design in the built environment. The
unique
initiative takes as its starting point the Scottish Executive's recently
published
'Meeting the Needs' document, which outlines its approach to sustainable
development.
The 12-month pilot campaign, developed by The Lighthouse on behalf of the
Scottish
Executive, engaged a wide ranging audience - from client groups, to architects,
other
design professionals, and community-based organisations. As a result of the
success
of the Sust. pilot, the Executive has funded a second extended phase running
from
April 2004 until March 2007.
